Roger Struski has owned and operated Northern Landscaping Ltd. from its County of Parkland headquarters since 2002. He has over 30 years of experience in the forestry, construction, mining, and landscaping industries. Northern Landscaping is truly a family business, with wife Lyla and daughter Amy both actively involved.
Roger began working in his most passionate vocation, landscaping, in 1978 as a part-time venture in Fort McMurray. He and Lyla and their daughters moved to the Stony Plain area in 1990 and Roger continued to travel to Fort Mac to work a full-time job.
In 2002, tired of the northern commute, Roger made the big step to make Northern Landscaping his full-time career.
Since the inception of the business, everyone from the Struski family has taken part in the landscaping business in some way or other. Roger and Lyla’s daughters always had a summer job working for their parents while going to school and university. These days, Lyla handles the bookkeeping and organizational side of the business, while Roger and the youngest daughter, Amy, handle the hands-on landscaping work.
